Vacations come and go. They are mini-adventures with all the twists and turns of a good novel along with all the family politics that can rival the Tudors. This was no exception but still great fun and laughs. Although we spent time in different hotels it was a chance for my gang to hang out in one room and really experience Disney in a way that I had hoped for. Staying in the Polynesian meant you never left Disney world. The down side was we didn't have that day to day, hour to hour interaction with everyone we did in the past. But looking back and knowing how we moved around the parks, it may have been ok.

....some closing thoughts.

It's been so long since I've been in Hall of Presidents. I think the last time I went into the Hall was to see the new Reagan statue, so I still have Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2, and Obama to see.
ReplyDeleteHall of Presidents still has some of the best air-conditioning in the world.
One can arrange a total lazy-man trip to the Magic Kindgom.
1) Hop on the train as you enter the park - go to Toontown station.
2) Leisurely walk to Mickey's Philharmagic - I think there's a raspberry/lemonade slushie station somewhere near there (ask Jordan).
3) Mickey's Philharmagic - cool, comfortable chairs, no one can see you powernapping as long as you wear the 3D glasses.
4) Relaxing walk to Small World - slow, cool, mellow, rarely a large line.
5) Short walk to Liberty Square - eat a turkey leg.
6) Hall of Air-Conditioned Presidents
7) Short walk to Adventureland.
8) Pirates - slow, cool, line moves pretty quickly.
9) Tiki Birds - quiet, air-conditioned, somewhat boring - time for a refresher powernap
10) Dole Whips.
11) If you have a lot of energy, slowly walk to the WEDWay People Mover in Tomorrowland, but only if you really are rejuvenated. Otherwise, slow walk out of the park and back to the hotel for a nap.
Oh, and overall a great trip. I'm glad you guys got to enjoy the Polynesian. It is such a prime location and the ambience is really great.
ReplyDeleteJoe, that is a perfect stroll. Something we will do someday when the kids want nothing to do with us!! I would add one more...while heading back out. Walk to the cookie shop on mainstreet (air conditioned), pick one or six up, and then cross back over and walk through the shops...browsing and munching back to the exit. Turn once to glance at Main Street and the Castle then proceed to board the monorail.
ReplyDeleteI have to say one last thing. I love Disney. Let the countdown begin for 2012....hmmm....maybe 2011 if we hit the lottery. Oh....and this time we hit Hall of Presidents first and get to Universal!
ReplyDeleteMmm....cookies shop on Main Street.....(drool)...
ReplyDeleteI want to go back now!!!!!!!! Have a good trip on Saturday!
